On Dray Walk next to Rough Trade, the new site will be larger and is billed by founder Jasper Delamothe as ‘the first step in an exciting evolutionary phase’.
Oranj will continue to run the high profile chef residencies with which it made its name but will also launch its own permanent menu with a new head chef set to be announced later this year.
A menu of ‘classic’ dishes is currently in development with input from past resident chefs, which include former Lyle’s chef Matthew Reade; Francesco Sarvonio from Hackney’s Elephant; and Aux Deux Amis head chef Yuto Fujimoto.
Japanese chef Yuto Fujimoto will kick things off at the Dray Walk site with a month-long residency that will make the most of the new venue’s outdoor kitchen.
Delamothe launched Oranj during lockdown as a natural wine delivery service with the Bacon Street following a few years later.
